Josh Newbould
BA (Hons) BMa graduate
About me
I am due to graduate from Liverpool Hope University with a BA (Hons) in Business Management on 22 July 2025, having achieved strong academic results including an average mark of First-Class Honours in my first year and predicted 2:1 minimum. During my studies, I was elected President of the Business Society, among other roles, working closely with the students' union, senior faculty and the Dean. Alongside my degree, I've gained practical experience through part-time roles – including my current position at Tesco – as well as various independent projects. I bring a strong work ethic, proven leadership and a commitment to continuous development, and I am currently seeking a full-time role with immediate availability.
Experience
I hold a wide range of experience across retail, hospitality, administration and marketing. Notably, I worked as a Receptionist and Ward Deliverer in the NHS, as the Social Media & Branding Manager for Live & Let Clean, a small cleaning business, and currently as a Customer Assistant at Tesco with supervisory responsibilities. At university, I was concurrently elected Course Representative and President of the Business Society, demonstrating strong leadership and organisational skills. Other experience includes customer-facing and administrative roles at Escape Live and seasonal positions at Superdry and Church Farm.

University
I have completed a BA (Hons) in Business Management at Liverpool Hope University, graduating on 22 July 2025. I achieved a First-Class average in my first year and maintained strong academic performance throughout the course by completing free Open University short-courses to complement my learning. During my studies, I was elected President of the Business Society as well as to the post of Course Representative for Business Management, collaborating with and reporting to the students' union, senior faculty and the Dean of the Business School. For my dissertation, I researched the impact of transformational and transactional leadership styles on employee performance within Liverpool's retail sector, analysing the empirical data using aggregation with mean deviation proxying reliability.

Personal projects
Alongside my academic and professional experience, I've actively pursued a range of personal and independent projects to develop my skills and interests. I created a brand identity and helped shape online presence during my time as President of the LHU Business Society as well as during my temporary/freelance employment at Live & Let Clean. During the early stages of Russian invasion of Ukraine, I also made and distributed Ukraine support ribbons as a small act of solidarity and fundraising. Additionally, I compiled a collection of resources, lectures and guidance to support fellow university students, aiming to make academic life more manageable for others. These projects reflect my initiative, creativity and commitment to continuous self-development as well as self-success and, even more so, the success of my peers.
